Setting the standards
‘Yours is an odd choice’, an acquaintance commented on my career choice. In 2015, I joined the Anti-Corruption Commission in spite of having a reasonably higher rank after post-graduate study (including Bhutan Civil Service Examination). As a young entrant into the civil service, I felt the importance of imbibing certain values and setting certain standards. For me, if I strengthen my moral fibre, career path can be navigated across different fields (wherever applicable), quite safely. I chose a leader, not a job.
